Unifiber Essentials Tendon CardanBase – NEW for 2026

The Essentials Cardan baseplate combines Unifiber’s tendon joint core with a mechanically hinging top.

The cardan hinge design is particularly suitable for wind foilers, beginners, inflatable windsurfing boards and Windsups.

Attaching the sail — whether on the beach or in the water — is simple, with no need to flip the board or manually bend the tendon. However, the tendon may deform when used in combination with high-performance rigs.

Built around a high-quality TPU tendon, the core is anchored by two large-diameter custom bolts, ensuring easy tendon replacement without the risk of bolt damage.

The U-Pin section is crafted from solid stainless steel for long-lasting durability.

Made from tough POK engineering plastic, the baseplate is ergonomic and easy to unscrew—even after intense sessions. The POK disk includes an EVA layer and a guiding knob, offering excellent grip on the board.

For added safety, a Spectra safety rope connects both the top and bottom parts of the baseplate, capable of withstanding up to 650 kg of break load.
